The Chicago Thinker invites you to tune in live to the American Identity Summit on May 10th, 2025, from 9am-6pm, streaming directly from the University of Chicago’s David Rubenstein Forum (click here to watch the livestream). As the University’s leading conservative and libertarian student publication, the Chicago Thinker is proud to host this landmark event, dedicated to free expression, open debate, and fearless journalism at a time when these values are needed most.
The American Identity Summit is the first event of its kind at the University of Chicago, bringing together nationally recognized voices to tackle the most pressing questions of our era: What does it mean to be American in the 21st century? Are we still united by the values that once defined us? What is the future of American education, economic policy, and our role in the world?
This year’s summit features a dynamic lineup of speakers and panelists, including:
Cenk Uygur, Jonathan Turley, Nadine Strossen, and Clay Travis on the fight against censorship and the future of American journalism
Dorian Abbot, Robert Bortins, Paul Vallas, and John Heiderscheidt discussing American citizenship and the changing character of education
Alex J. Pollock, Heidi Heitkamp, Jon C. Phillips, and Victor Gutwein debating whether we can still afford the American Dream
Melina Hale (Dean of the College) and Nikolas Ferreira (international perspective) as featured individual speakers
Paul Poast, Robert Pape, Curt Mills, and Paul Wolfowitz (video) exploring America’s role in the world
Throughout the day, panels will challenge assumptions and foster a community committed to preserving and reimagining the values that have long defined our nation. With robust Q&A sessions, this summit is designed for students, professionals, and all citizens passionate about the future of America.
